Earlier this morning I was watching ESPN as I regularly do in the afternoon, and saw Tiger Woods addressing the scandal betwen he, his wife and all the girls he had relations with. I couldn't help but think to myself, who cares?
We look at athletes as role models in this country, but why?They aren't out there saving the world or taking part in government issues, they are out there doing what they do best, competing as athletes in there sport. We put these athletes on pedestals, expecting them to never do anything wrong. We seem to forget they are people just like me and you and people do make mistakes. But unlike the everyday blue-collar worker these athletes face temptations, most likely on a daily basis.
With the media being the way it is today, with coverage on every little detail in peoples lives, the privacy will no longer be granted to these athletes. It's unfortunate.
